The third year of The Gentlemen's Cup saw two significant changes that have becomes staples of the G-Cup - three full days of golf as opposed to two and a location that required everyone to travel. These tweaks elevated the G-Cup from a golf-related weekend to a full blown annual event.

With 11 golfers all sharing one roof a block from the beach, the 2013 Gentlemen's Cup provided a balance of golf, sun, and some excellent local bars, making Myrtle Beach a go-to spot for future G-Cup planning.
October 3, 2013 - Scramble
Caledonia Fish & Golf Club

Caledonia Fish and Golf Club is a beautiful example of Myrtle beach golf - especially in October. An afternoon tee time allowed folks to arrive mid-morning on Thursday but still compete in three rounds of golf.

Chip Cavanaugh drew the short straw and took on the Justins. While the match was competitive at times it was just too much for Chip who lost 3&2.
​
Connor and Jason, 1 down on the 17 tee, hit wedges tight to win the hole and push the match to 18. However, the pressure was too much for the duo who put their approach shots in the water (pictured). In frustration, Connor managed to break his putter necessitating an emergency trip to the PGA Tour Superstore in Myrtle (one of two!).
October 4, 2013 - Scramble
Barefoot Resort and Golf - Love Course

Score at the end of Day 2: Lords 2.5 - Nobles 2.5
Barefoot Love was the favorite course of the 2013 G-Cuppers. It combined beautiful views with challenging architecture and the ups and downs of two man scramble.

Justin Gerstner won his 5th consecutive G-Cup match and proved decisions off the golf course didn't affect his game. Something I'm sure every golfer who's ever woken up with a hangover wishes that they could say about themselves.
​
Alex also managed to hold off the combo of Justin Ferira and Matt Corbin - an incredible accomplishment. Levy was playing lights out over the weekend and he wasn't about to stop.
October 5, 2013 - Singles
Tidewater Golf Club

Score at the end of Day 3: Lords 5.5 - Nobles 4.5
The Lords and Nobles headed into day three of the 2013 G-Cup in a dead heat. With 5 points up for grabs it was anyone's tournament to win.

Riding two days of good play, Alex buried Connor 4 & 3. Justin, sharing a cart with Connor was not about to go 0 - 2 and he took it out on Jeff Steinke, winning 5 & 3, to keep things even.
​
Chip drew the sort straw again but this time stood strong against Matt Corbin and Chris Jones.
​
In the end, the Lords managed one more win than the Nobles, just enough to win the cup for another year.
